Kontact Records recognizes that the careful handling of the personal information you entrust to us is important and that you have the right to understand our Privacy Policy prior to providing us with any information that could be used to identify you (“Personally Identifiable Information”). Kontact Records has adopted this Privacy Policy to explain how and why we collect particular information.

The Personally Identifiable Information may include information you give us when you register or purchase through our website, such as your name, email address, and payment related information and may also include information you supply when interacting with our customer services team including details we require to contact you. By using the Kontact Records website or supplying the information, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personally Identifiable Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

ONLINE STORE
While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping.
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

COMMENTS
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

MEDIA
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

CONTACT FORMS
Your personal data is captured when you submit a contact form including your name, email, phone and message. We may keep contact form submissions and email messages indefinitely for  customer service purposes, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes.

COOKIES
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

SECURITY LOGS
The IP address of visitors, user ID of logged in users, and username of login attempts are conditionally logged to check for malicious activity and to protect the site from specific kinds of attacks. Examples of conditions when logging occurs include login attempts, log out requests, requests for suspicious URLs, changes to site content, and password updates. This information is retained for 60 days.

WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
We do not sell or rent the information you supply to any third party. We share Personally Identifiable We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you. This could include, but may not be limited to, analytics, marketing, payment gateways, shipping providers, and third party embeds. Information that we receive to third parties solely for the purposes described below:

a. In cases where the disclosure is required by law, Kontact Records may share information with third parties necessary to meet this obligation. When a crime, abuse, or violation of the Kontact Records license agreement is suspected, Kontact Records retains the right to disclose information as necessary to enforce its rights and to address fraud, security or technical issues.

b. Other service providers, partner companies and individuals performing functions on our behalf may have access to personal information to perform specified tasks. An example of this includes payment processing (credit card, direct debit). Please note that this Privacy Policy applies only to our website and our services. Kontact Records is not responsible for the privacy practices of these other websites, apps and services. Nevertheless, Kontact Records undertakes to the extent reasonably possible to engage reputable service providers, partner companies and individuals performing any functions on our behalf and will to the extent reasonably possible oblige such service providers to use your personal information only for the limited purposes of performing the specified tasks and to treat the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

c. In all other cases, we will inform you when personal information is proposed to be disclosed to third parties and you will have the opportunity to give your consent or not prior to any such disclosure.

This site is scanned for potential malware and vulnerabilities by Sucuri’s SiteCheck. We do not send personal information to Sucuri; however, Sucuri could find personal information posted publicly (such as in comments) during their scan. For more details, please see Sucuri’s privacy policy.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA
We retain your Personally Identifiable Information as long as it is necessary and relevant for our operations and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 3 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses. When we determine the maximum retention duration of any Personally Identifiable Information we hold we do so with regard to our legitimate interests to retain data, the nature, and sensitivity of the personal data and the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. We will store reviews, if you choose to leave them.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

RIGHTS TO ACCESS, MODIFY, AND ERASE PERSONAL INFORMATION AND RIGHT TO LODGE A COMPLAINT
Upon request, Kontact Records will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your Personally Identifiable Information. Our website gives you the opportunity to change, modify and/or delete your Personally Identifiable Information that you have provided to us.

If you have signed up for the Kontact Records newsletter, we have collected your full name and e-mail address. The emails that we send contain links that enable you to “unsubscribe” from such mailings at any time.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

SECURITY
We attempt to follow policies and procedures that will protect against unauthorized access to your Personally Identifiable Information and reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure and alteration. We minimize the amount of personal information we disclose to what is directly relevant and necessary to accomplish the specified purpose. For example, we do not store credit card details. Nevertheless, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we can make no guarantees or warranties regarding its security.

WHO ON OUR TEAM HAS ACCESS
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access: Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information. Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

PAYMENTS
We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

SOCIAL MEDIA SHARING TOOLS AND LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
You may find links to other websites, apps and services, such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, SoundCloud, Twitter, PayPal and Google Wallet. YOUTUBE
Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.
If you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. Here the YouTube server is informed about which of our pages you have visited. If you’re logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. YouTube is used to help make our website appealing. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO. Our website uses features provided by the Vimeo video portal. This service is provided by Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA.
If you visit one of our pages featuring a Vimeo plugin, a connection to the Vimeo servers is established. Here the Vimeo server is informed about which of our pages you have visited. In addition, Vimeo will receive your IP address. This also applies if you are not logged in to Vimeo when you visit our plugin or do not have a Vimeo account. GOOGLE WEB FONTS
For uniform representation of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. On our pages, plugins of the SoundCloud social network (SoundCloud Limited, Berners House, 47-48 Berners Street, London W1T 3NF, UK) may be integrated. The SoundCloud plugins can be recognized by the SoundCloud logo on our site. When you visit our site, a direct connection between your browser and the SoundCloud server is established via the plugin. This enables SoundCloud to receive information that you have visited our site from your IP address. If you click on the “Like” or “Share” buttons while you are logged into your SoundCloud account, you can link the content of our pages to your SoundCloud profile.
